The Board of Supervisors of Schuylkill Township is seeking letters of interest from residents who want to serve on the Zoning Hearing Board.

The Schuylkill Township Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial body of 3 members and 2 alternates appointed by the Board of Supervisors to make decisions related to certain zoning regulations, authorize special exceptions, interpret and adjudicate appeals of the Zoning Ordinance, and approve or reject variances from the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance.

Although the appointed persons will be alternates, they are expected to attend the meetings, which are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month. An alternate member to the board serves a three-year term.

Alternates must be a resident of the township and cannot hold any other elected or appointed office in the township nor be an employee of the municipality.

Those interested in serving are asked to submit a brief letter stating interest, qualifications and vision for service to Township Secretary Madeline Harbison, Schuylkill Township, 111 Valley Park Road, Phoenixville, PA  19460.  Candidates can email their letter to secretary@schuylkilltwp.org
